Some of our Great Clients
Our History
Created in 1984, Legislative Executive Consulting (LEC) is one of the oldest contract lobby firms in the state of Utah. When Miles Cap Ferry left as Senate President to join newly elected Governor Bangerter’s cabinet, his wife, Sue Ferry, started LEC. The fact that two of the firm’s first three clients are still clients today is evidence of the longevity of our client relationships. In the past 38 years LEC has represented a multitude of clients with a myriad of issues.
In 1992, when Governor Leavitt replaced Governor Bangerter, Miles Ferry joined Sue Ferry at LEC. In 2002, David Stewart joined LEC full time after splitting time between LEC and Ernst and Young where David became a licensed certified public accountant. Ten years later in 2012 Miles and Sue Ferry retired. Currently David Stewart is the sole partner of LEC but regularly subcontracts with other lobbyists when specific skill sets are needed.
While other firms have consolidated to achieve the perception of being a larger institution, LEC has always put its clients first and has a strong network of peers that help us ensure we can meet your goals.
