We’ve had a lot of success over the years. Here are some of our favorite moments.

Brigham City

In 2020, LEC was hired by Brigham City to help find a solution to a problem with Union Pacific staging trains in their city straddling Forest Street which would cut the city in half and make east/west driving nearly impossible. The city had worked for years unsuccessfully to find a resolution with Union Pacific. LEC developed a strategy of creating a funding mechanism through reinstating a fuel tax on Union Pacific that had been repealed a decade earlier and capitalizing the revenue stream to fund the $30,000,000 project. This project took about 2 years to create the revenue steam and then in 2021 secure the funding. The project is now in engineering and design with construction to begin later this year.

Upstart Pre-K

A little over 12 years ago David helped to create an in-home pilot program for Pre-K. The original pilot was funded with $3 million dollars and served 1,000 children. Every year the program has grown and now receives over $25 million dollars annually and is being utilized by over 25,000 children statewide. This has been over the strong objection of the entrenched education community but the impact on reading scores and readiness upon entering kindergarten have been revolutionary

Licensure For Anesthesiologist Assistants

In 2022, representing the Society of Anesthesiologists, LEC led the charge to create licensure for anesthesiologist assistants. These licensure fights are some of the most difficult battles on Capitol Hill, and this issue brought out strong opposition from certified nurse anesthetists who were opposed to the increased competition. The Anesthesiologists had been seeking licensure for assistants for over 10 years.  LEC created a comprehensive strategy for both the House and Senate and the Governors Office, compiled a team and executed their strategy perfectly. Anesthesiologist assistants are now licensed in Utah.
